ntroduction to Alayadivembu Divisional Secretariat

Alayadivembu Divisional Secretariat is located 0.75km away from south of Akkaraipattu Town. It can be accessed along the A-15  Sagama Road from Akkaraipattu. Alayadivembu Ds Division has 22 Grama Niladhari Divisions and 28 villages. It is bounded on East by Sea, on West by Damana Ds Division, on North by Akkaraipattu DS Division and on South by Thirukovil Ds Division. It is consisting of 127.88 sqkm land in length. According to the census surveyed by GN in 2010 It has 25675 population and 7291 families. Out of 25675 population 48.74% are men and 51.26% are women. There are Hindus, Shihales and Christians. Out of these three communities Hindus is the majority Next to it are Christians and Sinhales.
